Dream to Draft

You’re staring blankly into your coffee cup in the cube farm of your day job, dreaming of other worlds and wishing you knew how to get those stories onto the page. For real this time.

You need help creating an outline and sticking to a writing schedule.

Dream to Draft is a 5 month 1-1 coaching service that helps you outline, create characters, and complete the first draft of your book.

What will your life look like after completing Dream to Draft?

  • You can tell all your friends who talk about writing a book “someday” that you actually did. (A first draft totally counts as writing a book, promise!)
  • You’re ready to edit and prepare your book for publication!
  • You have a solid writing schedule and the discipline to stick with it while writing your next book.
  • You can create intriguing characters and useful outlines with ease for your future books.

Why is Your Dream Published the best investment of your hard-earned money?

You could spend thousands of dollars on writing workshops and retreats, hoping to find the effervescent Muse. You could waste hundreds of hours staring at the blinking cursor on your blank monitor, cursing Writer’s Block to the end of days.

OR

You hire someone who knows how to create an infallible writing schedule, knows EXACTLY how to get rid of Writer’s Block, and has perfected outlining and character creation.

Coaching Curriculum

Week 1

This week we’ll talk about goal setting and set realistic-for-you goals. We’ll also talk about character creation and and getting all your ideas for your book on paper.

Week 3

This week we’ll create a USEFUL outline for your story, as well as various methods for outlining so you can decide which will be the best for you.

We’ll also talk about writing style and voice – such as, should you write your story in first person or third? Past or present tense? Single point of view or many?

Week 5

We’ll review and refine your outline and character dossiers, and talk about any last questions, concerns, and worries you have before you set off to write the next great novel!

Months 2-5

We’ll continue to meet every other week to talk about your progress, what obstacles you’re facing – both in writing and in real life – that may prevent you from writing, and brainstorm ideas to get past any areas of the story that are slowing you down.
